Welcome to, perhaps, the most comprehensive and focused effort yet to gain Paramount’s attention to extend the Star Trek universe. The goal is simple: garner overwhelming fan support for Paramount Pictures to make a Deep Space Nine television mini-series. Like you, I believe Star Trek is one of the most powerful, most influential franchises in television history—and I still can’t get enough of it. From Archer to Kirk to Picard to Sisko to Janeway (by star date only), we’ve seen great action, superb acting and cutting-edge conceptual designs. While each series is unique, the focus of this particular effort is to extend the DS9 experience and reprise several well-loved characters as the series unfolds. This initiative is designed to tap the invaluable abilities of a small operations staff of like-minded Trek volunteers—essential men and women that will be the nucleus of this campaign. However, this campaign’s success will rest mostly on the shoulders of “our captains in the field.” The combined efforts of our state campaign coordinators will make this campaign a worthwhile initiative. While reality suggests that few worthwhile projects are completed quickly, we will set our sites on collecting 1,000,000 signed campaign petitions over the next year; as we make progress, I will reassess our petition goal and make adjustments as required. I firmly believe that at the end of one year, we should have Paramount’s attention. I sincerely appreciate your time in this effort. Without people like you, the Star Trek universe would never have achieved its current level of fame.
